Who is Bendigo Bank?

Bendigo Bank is known across Australia for its commitment to community through our unique Community Bank model. In 2021, we built on this commitment, and since 1998 we’ve contributed over $270 million through this network.

Our vision is to be Australia’s bank of choice and our purpose is to feed into prosperity, not off it. Our customers are at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud that more than 2 million Australians now choose to do their banking with us.

Bendigo Bank is committed to operate sustainably from an economic, social and environmental standpoint, considering the needs of our customers and stakeholders over the long term. While our expertise is in delivering first class financial services, our purpose underpins everything we do.

What is the Portarlington Community Bank and why should you bank with them?

The local Community Bank is part of a unique and highly successful banking model established over 20 years ago by Bendigo Bank. Our reputation as Australia’s most trusted bank means that 321 Community Bank branches now successfully operate right across Australia.

Community Banks profit share with the communities in which they operate. Local to Panorama, there are branches in both Portarlington and Drysdale looking after customers on the Bellarine.

Banking with your local Portarlington Community Bank will mean that in turn, the bank can provide support back to the community.

How has Bendigo Bank contributed back to the Portarlington community?

Last year, our Portarlington and Drysdale branches supported over 50 organisations across the Bellarine, its major project being a $250,000 grant to assist with the major upgrade to the WG Little Reserve in Portarlington.

Locally, our Portarlington and Drysdale branches have contributed over $2 million back to the Bellarine.

The Portarlington Community Bank also has a local Board, who kindly volunteer many hours a week for the benefit of the Bellarine Community.

What’s pre-approval?

Panorama will be selling Stage 1 as unregistered land. Many new estates, like Panorama, offer land for sale and take deposits before it’s registered for subdivision, as it can take several months to build the infrastructure and services necessary for registration.

If you’re planning to buy land and build at Panorama within Stage 1, you may choose to get pre-approval before paying your deposit. It’s very important to remember that pre-approval is not a guarantee of final approval, it’s an indication of how much the lender may be willing to lend you.

Portarlington Community Bank is keen to connect with you to discuss your eligibility for a home loan for your dream home at Panorama.

What if I’m currently living in metro Melbourne, but I’m interested in lending through the Portarlington Community Bank?

No worries! We can meet you locally, preferably by appointment, or even virtually. If you’re based in Melbourne, we can arrange a meeting with one of our Mobile Relationship Managers for your prequalification discussion.

What information will I need to provide?

To submit your pre-approval application, we’ll need your latest income information, most recent payslips (or tax returns if you’re self-employed) and other supporting information. We’ll provide you with a checklist of documents we require once we’ve had an initial chat.

Will my pre-approval expire?

Remembering that prequalification is only a guide and will be subject to a more formal process later on, you’ll need to check back within 60 days, or if anything changes with your personal circumstances that may impact our assessment.

Who should I speak with at Bendigo Bank Portarlington to learn more or get started?

Reach out to us and we’ll arrange a meeting with our local home loan specialist. All you need to do is contact our Portarlington Branch on 5259 3266.

We’d love to have you as a customer to help us build on our long-term vision to provide infrastructure, invigorate local activity and strengthen our community.
