Bushfire Prone Area Update

Panorama Portarlington currently sits within a designated bushfire prone area, which means that special bushfire construction requirements apply to the property.

In March 2024, we welcomed a Bushfire Spatial Coordinator from the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) to review Stages 1, 2 and 3.

After a thorough review of the Bushfire Prone Area (BPA), DTP has taken proactive steps and officially submitted requests to both fire services and the City of Greater Geelong (COGG) for consultation, recommending the removal of the BPA designation.

Pending support from the fire services and COGG, the request will proceed for gazettal and approval by the Minister for Planning.

Should the fire services not support the removal of the BPA, it will remain unchanged. The approval or rejection of the request should be known in late June 2024.

Stay tuned for further updates as we navigate this important process together!
