We all know that taking up exercise and outdoor activities offers a host of both physical and mental health benefits. But as we get caught up in our daily grind, it can become easy to lack the motivation to get out and exercise.

At Panorama Portarlington, finding motivation is easy, with countless opportunities for outdoor activity right on your doorstep. You can walk, run, swim and ride until your heart’s content.

Here are 4 of our favourite places to get out and get active:

Portarlington Recreation Reserve

Portarlington Recreation Reserve is a scenic sports reserve located just a stone’s throw from the magnificent Portarlington waterfront. Fit for the whole family; this reserve boasts two ovals suitable for football and cricket, tennis courts, netball courts as well as a running track and cross-country course. There’s also a playground perfect for the little ones and off-leash dog areas so your pooch can get a workout too. Talk about having it all!

Portarlington Swimming Beach

Most people could only dream of living as close to the beach as the residents of Panorama Portarlington. Get in an easy 5km every day; run or walk down to the beach, cool off with a quick dip and head back home. There’s no harm in rewarding your hard work along the way with a stop at Pier St Café! Being active has never been so easy, or so appealing!

Portarlington to Indented Head

This one’s not for the faint hearted, but if you’re an avid hiker or trail runner, this is for you. Starting at the Portarlington Pier, follow The Foreshore walking track alongside The Esplanade all the way to Taylor Reserve in Indented Head. You’ll be able to hear the waves crashing on the shore as you run or walk along this scenic path. Make sure to bring lots of water – it’s a 13km round trip.

Portarlington to St Leonards

If cycling is more your style, get ready to ride like the wind on this 21km return trail. Saddle up at Portarlington Pier and cycle down The Esplanade to St Leonards Pier. This is an extended version of the previous trail for cyclists who want to go the extra mile (literally). Take in the fresh sea breeze as you cycle parallel to the picturesque Port Philip Bay.
